Ancient - We had ... Arthurian love.

Chronicler - What? Kind of platonic? Idealistic in a doomed kind of way?

Ancient - No. Not that. It was very passionate in its youth. No. I mean the priest swore us to vows that we could not keep.

Chronicler - What was so difficult to keep? Did you ever stop loving her?

Ancient - Never for a minute. But we use "love" in many senses. We are so imprecise in this way.

Chronicler - Oh so you didn't have true love.

Ancient - You speak as if you understand what this means. What do you think this means?

And so began a long interview. Much longer than can be captured here. Socratic questions from the ancient. Long, well thought out replies from the cronicler.

Chronicler - So we have agreed upon an incredibly concise, well understood definition of true love. Now did you have it with her?

Ancient - To understand that you must see both hearts clearly, not just one. We cannot be sure of hers because all we have are her words.

Chronicler - Hypothesize.

Ancient - I will not indulge in idle speculation.

Chronicler - So you are willing to go to your very grave without knowing if you have ever had true love?

Ancient - You have lept in your reasoning. But many people do, go to their...

Chronicler - How do you know?

Ancient - Because I have seen how careless people are about this thing. But they do not know what they don't know and don't mind very much therefore.

Chronicler - I feel that I have wasted part of my life talking to you.

Thanks much! Glad it brings a smile to ya. Though I don't know what our shrinks would say...

And by the way, used to be that Red Barchetta was a fav of mine. You had to keep your eye on Rush, they would bring out some pretty creative stuff. My interests have changed now but those guys definately left their mark. Cool.

Agreed Dudley....and Rush's Neil Peart beeing called the best drummer of all time and knowing he is writing those lyrics stil amaze me...those guys are still doing it since 1972 and the music and lyrics they put trought all those years like i said amaze me...keep going on Dudley like i said i love reading you....

The evil Djinn grinned wickedly...

He saw what he could do...

She needed to be humbled, to be brought low. She was protected by a well-meaning but too careless godmother. Who weaved a wall of spell around her.

Her beauty must not be touched for it was her most treasured thing and thus guarded well by fairey. He could not play thief with her wealth nor change the perceptions of the people around her. He could not age her nor regress her. He could not isolate her nor take health from her.

But he saw a chink in the walls protecting her. And his punishment fit her crimes so well.

He snapped the thumb and middle finger of his left hand... And she began to grow. Slowly at first. While she shopped in the department store of her town's mall. But then so rapidly. She crashed through the roof of the mall and roared out a terrifying "omg"

Her beauty, her proportions, were carefully preserved. But she now towered over the tiny village. She was now a giant, a titan, but not like those of the myths. People were only now dimly aware of her good looks as they screamed in terror at her advance through the streets of their fragile seeming burg.

She stumbled around in shock, in her now bus-sized high-heeled shoes. Destroying streets, carelessly knocking down buildings. Mumbling out "I'm sorry. Really sorry." as she cut her swath of clumbsy destruction... her mumbles making the windmills on the edge of town rip out of the ground from the force of their spinning and then to crash down in shambles when she turned her head in another direction.

The Djinn was delighted. He sat down to watch the result his craft...

Can anyone save her? Is it curtains for her? Will she ever own more than one pair of shoes now?
Will she fight Godzilla?(oh no... there goes toledo! go go Godzilla! )

You'll know soon if you watch... aigggghrrshhhhhhhhhh!!! *crunch crunch crunch*

Dillan's Grove III - The Return

My former love stood before me
From her right hand hung the head of Buffy.

A splintered stake from below one nipple did protrude
But it did not seem to blunt her need for food.

Even though Buffy's was still in her gastric zone.

When caught between two lovers, friend heed my advice...
