FAVORITE TEDDY BEAR COOKIES
Cookies become a special treat when shaped into cute little teddy bears.
Preparation time: 1 hrs 30 min Baking time: 7 min
Yield: 1 1/2 dozen cookies
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup LAND O LAKES Butter, softened
1 LAND O LAKES All-Natural Farm-Fresh Egg
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
Heat oven to 375F. Combine sugar, butter, egg and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Reduce speed to low; add flour, baking powder and salt. Beat, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
Divide dough in half. Place half of dough into medium bowl; stir in chocolate until well mixed.
For each teddy bear, use either vanilla or chocolate dough or a combination for two-toned teddy bears. Shape 1 large (1-inch) ball for body; place onto ungreased cookie sheet; flatten slightly. Shape 1 medium (3/4-inch) ball for head, 4 small (1/2-inch) balls for arms and legs, 2 smaller balls for ears. Attach head, arms, legs and ears by overlapping slightly onto body. Add additional small balls for eyes, nose and mouth, if desired. Use fork to make claws on paws.
Bake for 7 to 8 minutes or until body is set. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to cooling rack. Cool completely.

A cookie story
Wednesday, October 29, 2008
Every child knows the key to getting lots of presents is to leave Santa a plate full of delicious cookies on Christmas Eve. Whether you have been naughty or nice, cookies always seem to do the trick. Generations of families have taken part in this time-honored tradition of baking cookies for Santa Claus. Cookies can be traced back to humble beginnings thousands of years ago, and today are delightfully embedded into American culture and heritage.
The Gingerbread Cookie has a vast history dating back to the fifteenth century when crusaders returning to Europe from the Middle East brought back spices such as ginger. Believed to cure an upset stomach and prevent a cold, Catholic monks formed the ginger into cakes and pressed them into molds. Americans were first introduced to gingerbread in 1854 when Swiss Catholic monks brought over the recipe, fed it to the sick, and baked it for holiday celebrations.
At Edible Art, in Longview, Debbie Fontaine, decorator, and Joyce Yuen, baker, assembled more than 40 medium-sized gingerbread houses last year for customers. "It was a blast!" Debbie said.
The Sugar Cookie was perfected in the mid-1700s by German Protestant settlers in the Nazareth area of Pennsylvania. The cookie is usually made from baking soda, sugar, eggs, flour, vinegar, salt, milk and vanilla and baked until crisp. The sugar cookies can be rolled and pressed into many different shapes with cookie cutters and decorated with icing and sugar sprinkles, a perfect task for any fun-loving adult or child.
"The most popular request during the holidays is for my 'sugar cookie on a stick' in the shape of Santa," said Carrie Beckham, owner of Candy and Cakes by Carrie, in Beckville. "Last year I sold more than 30 dozen just the week of school Christmas parties alone."
At Edible Art, a shortbread sugar cookie in the shape of a Christmas tree has been the most popular cookie for the past three years. These cookies can be decorated in styles ranging from "childish to very elaborate," Debbie said.
The chocolate chip cookie was invented in 1937 by Ruth Graves Wakefield, who ran the Toll House Restaurant, and whirlwinded into popularity when Betty Crocker used the recipe in her radio series. Ruth teamed up with Nestle Co. and put the Toll House cookie recipe on the back of the wrapper of the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar. Later, Ruth sold all the legal rights to Nestle. The chocolate chip cookie continues to be a customary must-bake for the holidays.
The holidays are a time of sharing and giving, so why not do both with cookies? Charm found some scrumptious cookies from local bakeries to help the holiday season get off to the right start. Whether you buy or bake, get together with your friends, co-workers or family and enjoy some cookies. 'Tis the season! Quote

Because he felt Crummy

Cookie 1: HOLY CURD!! we are in an oven...
Cookie 2: HOLY CRAP!! a talking cookie

Sarah was never tall enough to reach the cookies in the kitchen so she always asked her brother to get them for her, becuase he is taller and older than her. When she was about 7 (her brother still had to get the cookies for her) she was dared to eat a dog biscuit. AFter she eats one, she goes home and punches her brother. For her whole life he had been giving her dog biscuits instead of cookies.

An old man is lying on his death bed when suddenly he smells his favorite home-made cookies. He starts to make his way down stairs and sees hundreds of cookies in the kitchen. The man takes one, still warm, from the pan. As he takes a bit life starts to floww back into him, he feels better than he ever has. Suddenly there is a sharp stinging in his hand. He looks up to see his wife. "Don't eat those, they're for the funeral."She says."

A cookie bouquet is a bouquet of cookies (often decorated) on sticks that have been arranged in a container much as a flower bouquet might be. They are typically given as gifts or used as decorations.
The cookies may be shaped and/or decorated to resemble flowers or items in a thematic bouquet, such as smiley faces for a "Get Well" bouquet or champagne flutes and balloons for centerpieces at a New Year's Eve party.
Each cookie in a bouquet is wrapped with cellophane or a clear plastic bag. The bouquet is often decorated with ribbons or raffia. A small gift, such as a Teddy bear, is sometimes added.
Containers for cookie bouquets include mugs, watering cans, boxes and just about anything that fits the theme and won't tip over under the top heavy cookies on sticks.
Cookie boquets were invented in 1983, by Gwen Willhite. Ms. Willhite, an unemployed, single mother was creative and motivated to take care of her family. She combined two traditional gifts - flowers and sweets - and turned them into one deliciously clever concept, the cookie bouquet.
Today Ms. Willhite's company is owned by Crumbs Corp and can be found at Cookies By Design. Other "cookie boquet" companies include Clever Cookiewhich was started in 1991 by sibling entrepreneurs, Lisa Saffeir and David Wild and Corsos Cookieswhich was started by Tina Corso in 2001. Quote

Gingerbread Song
(Tune: Frere Jacques)
Gingerbread, gingerbread,
Yum, yum, yum, Yum, yum, yum.
I like gingerbread, I like gingerbread,
In my tum, In my tum.

Who Stole the Cookies?
Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar?
Who, me? Yes, you!
Couldn't be! Then who?
(child's name) stole the cookies from the cookie jar.
Who, me? Yes, you!
Couldn't be! Then who?
Note: Continue for as many children as you want

Five Little Cookies
Five little cookies With frosting galore.
(Child's Name) ate the red one, then there were four.
Four little cookies, Two and two you see
(Child's Name) ate the green one, then there were three.
Three little cookies But before I knew,
(Child's Name) ate the white one, then there were two.
Two little cookies, Oh what fun,
(Child's Name) ate the brown one, then there was one

Gingerbread Man
(Tune: One, Two Buckle My Shoe)
Once there was a gingerbread man
Baking in a gingerbread pan
Raisin eyes and cherry nose
Trimmed right down
To his fingers and toes
A gingerbread man in a gingerbread pan
Here's the old woman who made him so sweet
A treat for her and her husband to eat
She made him with flour and sugar and eggs
She gave him a face and two arms and two legs
A gingerbread man in a gingerbread pan
Now open the oven to see if he's done
This gingerbread boy, he know how to run
Out of the oven and onto the floor
Now run away out the kitchen door
The gingerbread man, he's out of the pan!
Now chase him old woman, now chase him old man
Chase him, yes chase him as fast as you can!
Through the garden and out the gate
Catch him right now, before it's too late
The gingerbread man, he's out of the pan!
Along came a cow who wanted a treat
And the gingerbread boy, he looked good to eat
Run, run, run, as fast as you can
You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man
I'm the gingerbread man and I'm out of the pan!
(Repeat verse for Dog, Goose, Turtle, and Hog)
Along came a fox who wanted a treat
And this gingerbread boy, he looked good to eat
Jump on my back, my gingerbread pet
And we'll cross the river, so you won't get wet
Mr. Gingerbread man, who's out of the pan.
There was no place to go, there was no place to run
And a ride on the river could be lots of fun!
So off with the fox did Gingerbread go
And what happened next, you already know
To the gingerbread man, who's out of the pan
That sly old fox had a DELICIOUS treat
And the old man and woman had nothing to eat
Not a bite was left for the cow or the dog,
The goose or the turtle or hungry old hog
There's no gingerbread man! There's no gingerbread man!
So let us go home and get out the pan
And we'll make ourselves a new gingerbread man!
And when he is eaten, we'll make us some more
But this time be certain to lock the back door!
A new gingerbread man, in a gingerbread pan!

On Christmas day the Gingerbread man said
"Ladyfingers be my wife."
"Oh happy day, let's spread the word"
Said the spatula to the knife.
And when the baker heard the news, he cried
"I know just what to do."
"I got a zillion recipes, cause you just can't make enough"
Just can't make enough sweet cookies.
Chorus:
Peanut butter, Butter nut, Co-coa-Co-conut.
Ca-ra-mel, Carob Kisses, cookie cutters cut.
Mocha Macaroons, Double Double fudge cream.
Don't you know it's a Christmas dream.
Sweet, sweet cookies.
The Gingerbread man asked Ladyfinger
"What do you want most? Anything your heart desires
I'll search from coast to coast"
She planted candy kisses on his face with emphasis-sis
"I want a great big family"
Cause you just can't make enough.
Just can't make enough sweet cookies
Chorus
One by one, then two by two, the cookie family grew.
A dozen more became a score pouring out the backdoor.
All across the nation.
It was the sweetest celebration.
Between friends and family, everybody had to agree.
They had a cookie infantry to the last crumb.
Nmy NmmNmm gooey, chewy good stuff.
Nmy NmmNmm you can never have enough.
Cause you just can't make enough
Just can't make enough sweet cookies!
You can never make enough.

Russell Simins - Cookies And Cream
It's such an emotional drain
Everytime I watch a game
Everybody shoots
Nobody scores
I can't watch this anymore
Doo Doo Do, Doo Doo Do Doo Doo
Do Doo Doo, Do Do Do Do Doo Doo
Such an emotional drain
Such an emotional drain
Everytime I watch a game
Everybody shoots
Nobody scores
I can't watch this anymore
Such an emotional drain
Everytime you walk away
Everybody's cool
Nobody's sure
(Everybody shoots)
(Nobody scores)
I can't take this anymore
I feel like cookies and cream
You know what I mean?
Cookies and cream
You know what I mean?
Cookies and cream
You know what I mean?
Such an emotional drain
Everytime I watch a game
Everybody shoots
Nobody scores

I can't watch this anymore
Emotional

But I'm tryna get your lips wet
Doggy-style, facial, huh.. Welcome to Dipset

I am a living animal.
You may not see me with your eyes,
But though I'm very, very small,
I'm a tough nut for my size.
I do not fear the arid desert,
Nor the frigid cold and snow.
I can rest comfortably in the mountains high
Or in the ocean far below.
You may find me in the cold of space
Or by a pristine, little lake.
I may have gone thirsty for 100 years,
So give me a drink, for goodness sake!
If you find me, please say "hello,"
And a new friend you can make,
For you'll find I'm not as nasty
As my more ferocious namesake.
It's been a pleasure meeting you
And telling you about me.
Now that you have all the clues,
Please tell me, what can I be?
ANSWER WILL BE POSTED TOMORROW... Any guesses? Quote

These are my all time favorite cOOkies!!!!! Try them when you have a chance!
White chocolate chip macademia nut cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup (225 grams) of softened butter
3/4 cup (165 grams) of brown sugar
1/2 cup (100 grams) of white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups (310 grams) of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup (130 grams) of coarsely chopped macadamia nuts
1 cup (180 grams) of white chocolate chips
Steps:
1- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F, 180 degrees C, or turn it to gas mark 4.
2- Mix the dry ingredients (flour, salt, and baking soda) together in a bowl.
3- Mix the other ingredients in a separate bowl (butter, both sugars, eggs, and vanilla). If the butter is stiff or still harden, it may be harder for you to mix. You can use an electric whisk if you don't want to wait. Avoid melting the butter because it'll give the mixture a different texture.
4- Pour a little of the flour mixture into the wet mixture, a little at a time. Mix everything thoroughly and add the white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts. Fold the ingredients into the mixture.
5- Line your cookie sheets with wax or parchment paper. Drop tablespoon amounts onto your cookie sheet about 1 to 2 inches between each other. The empty space between each drop will allow them to spread as they bake, otherwise the cookies will "collide" and connect with each other.
6- Place the cookie sheet into the oven for 10 minutes or until they turn a golden brown color. Remove from oven and cool them on a cooling rack.
It's so good. I cant resit them I always pig out when I make those.
I am definitely a cookie lover. I love trying out new recipes. I cant wait to try out some of the ones on this thread.

tune: The Dreidel Song
CHORUS:
Oh, Cookies, cookies, cookies!
There's cookies here to eat!
So get some milk and buy some,
for they are nice and sweet!
We have some Girl Scout cookies,
the Thin Mints are the Best!
The Trefoils are the oldest type,
and here you see the rest.
CHORUS
If Peanut Butter is your thing,
with chocolate or without,
Then Do-si-dos are what you want,
or Tagalongs you'll shout
CHORUS
Our booth is here to serve you,
so go into the store,
And get your stuff and then come out,
for you will want Samoas!
CHORUS
The Cafs are the newest,
the Cinnamon's delish!
But if you're wanting low fat,
then Lemon's what you wish.

The last one is a kid pleaser,
without them, they will pout!
For Shortbread dipped in Chocolate
Is what it's All About!
